Hi Gordon your right about Andy for a right winger he was shall way say no ” slim jim ” but he was a skilful player and very difficult to put of the ball and had a fierce shot . Andy’ s shorts were made in Dak Simpsons because the ones supplied by kit makers did not fit him. Great memories Gordon.

I remember Andy Campbell in photo 14 who demolished Irvine Meadow single handed in the Scottish Cup in the mid sixties. His corner kicks were impossible to defend. He simple hit the ball as hard as he could.

Hugh Kerr he stays in Paisley, hes 85 now he remembers everyone of the people in the photo, yeh capped 3 times for scotland i have one of the caps and pictures of him playing against Ireland in 1956. I will see if i can get you photos on them, send me the details of the players and ill show him the mail. We are thinkin about coming to not next weeks but the next home game they are playing.

My grandfather front row far right of photograph 15, james (jimmy) mcanenay played as a right footer on left wing. If you have any of the other names can you let me know them so i can tell him, he is 85 years old now and can still tell u everything of those times

Hi evelyn the name Cowan is extremely well known as far as Larkhall Thistle is concerned. as far as Midge Cowan is concerned if it’s the same guy who in the thirty’s was on the committee and until he passed away very seldom missed a game. His son Andrew ” wee Nin” as he was know now 90 years old still on the go and like old Midge was heavily involved in the club for many years and still attends home games.Only Wullie Cowan I know was Andrew’s brother and was treasurer of club for many years. Usually go down to see Andrew at least once a week will clarify if I am on right lines re your old papa. If so I have many fond memories of Wullie. Will be back in touch.
