Thistle returned to Fullerton Park only a few weeks after battling 3-3 draw with Vale’s tenants Bellshill. Once again though lack of discipline was at the forefront as the Jags had to see out the majority of the match with only ten players.
Thistle met in-form Lanark in a game that was threatened by the recent rain and although it didn’t serve up the excitement and goals of last week, there were some positives to take from the game.

One of the more extraordinary games that anybody watching is likely to witness, this was the proverbial rollercoaster of a match that left fans of both teams scratching their heads at what they’d just seen.
The draw was made today for the second round of the West of Scotland Cup and Thistle could not have had a more difficult tie, being drawn away to the holders Auchinleck Talbot. Date of the game has still to be decided. Great stadium good surface and large crowd – something to look forward to.
Thistle took on bottom team Ashfield in what on paper seemed like being a fairly straightforward home win. The Possil club had lost all but one of their league games so far with only a draw against Carluke preventing a complete blank but the Jags hadn’t exactly been pulling up trees themselves this seaon so were taking nothing for granted.
