Hugh Kelly / James Duris

Hugh_KellyThistle have re-signed midfielder-turned left back Hugh Kelly after his release from Fauldhouse United. Hugh is a highly experienced junior player and will be a great addition to the playing staff at the club.

Everybody at the club would like to welcome Hugh back.

James Duris has been released from his second spell at the club at his request, we wish him all the best and thank him for his efforts.

Davie McEwan

The club is sorry to announce that our iconic goalkeeper Davie McEwan has left by mutual agreement. Davie played 90 plus games over 4 seasons, injury preventing him from playing another 30 plus games.

At our level of the game, work and domestic arrangements will always come first. We thank Davie for his service both on and off the field wish him all the best for the future and look forward to welcoming him to Gasworks Park on any occasion.

Latest signing

Thistle have signed David (Div) Reid after an impressive game against Forfar West End on Saturday. Welcome to the club David. Dunky and Tam hope to announce further signings shortly.

Larkhall Thistle Squad 2014 – 2015

Nothing to play for, but…

Thistle are in seventh place in the league and as has become normal have more games left than anybody else with three still to play. If they win them all they will hold on to 7th spot but can’t finish any higher, a disappointing end to what looked like a promising campaign for most of the season.

Each week, the match report has nominated a Man of the Match and this has been compiled into a table for the season so far, based on two points for MoM and one for anybody else mentioned in the Best for Thistle on the Day summary.

So it’s no consolation for not having promotion to go for, but with three games to go most of the first team squad are still in with a shout. Here’s how the table looks after the Benburb game:

MoM – Website
Innes 10
Gracie 9
Kelly 9
Brown 8
McLachlan 8
Reynolds 7
McEwan 6
Cassidy 6
Garcia 4
Canning 4
Moss 3
Marshall 3
McKeever 2
Clarke 2

We are in negotiations with Audi for a brand new top of the range A6 for the winner but if that falls through there will probably be a momento of some description from the wee trophy shop up the main street.

Brian Eadie

Former Larkhall Thistle player Brian Eadie was seriously injured in a game last night between his present team Rutherglen Glencairn and Beith. The game had to be abandoned to allow treatment for Brian.

Everybody at Larkhall Thistle would like to wish Brian a full and speedy recovery.

Bobby Wilson

Bobby Wilson was a Scottish Schoolboy international who joined Airdrie from Larkhall Thistle in 1943, he then appears to have rejoined Thistle as a coach when he finished playing – probably in the mid 1950s. He was also at Workington AFC.

Do you have any more information about Bobby, especially what job he did, and if he is still alive?

Neil Fissler is a football journalist in London doing research for a Who’s Who on Workington AFC and any help would be appreciated so if you know anything at all about Bobby Wilson please reply using the comment box below or email ian @ larkhallthistle.co.uk
