Thistle have once again drawn a local derby against Royal Albert in the Scottish Cup.
The game is due to be played on October 22nd at Tileworks Park, Stonehouse.
Thistle have been drawn at home to Haddington Athletic in the first round of the Scottish Cup. Haddington play in the East Premier League, the division below the Superleague and are currently sitting sixth after five games. It will be a stiff test for the Jags as the two teams look fairly evenly matched on paper.
As commented by regular poster Exiled, Thistle lost 3-1 there in the Scottish Cup in 1970 when they had a very good team and a massive support, the round after beating Preston Athletic (now a Senior team) 4-0 at Prestonpans.
The tie takes place on Saturday 26th September at Gasworks Park.
Tomorrow’s Scottish Cup tie in Aberdeen against Banks o’ Dee is definitely on. The weather in Aberdeen is milder than the Central belt and they play on an artificial pitch so the game goes ahead.
Kick off is 1:45 and a reminder that the bus leaves at 7:30am.
Anyone interested in travelling to Aberdeen on 23rd November for Scottish Cup tie please contact Hugh Kerr on 0774683547 or Chris Lenson on 07878468937.
Departure time still to be confirmed, will depend on whether we decide to stop on the way up. Cost of bus will be £15.
The draw has been made for the Second Round of the Scottish Cup, Larkhall Thistle will go to Cumnock on Saturday 20th October. It’s a very difficult game in prospect against the Super League Premier Division side, bus details to follow.
