Larkhall Thistle Amts. face Dumbarton F.P in the final of the Caledonian League Cup at Broadwood home of Clyde F.C . on Friday 22nd. January k.o. 7.45pm.
The club started out in season 2014/15 as part of the Larkhall United structure of teams. They commenced playing in the Strathclyde Morning League reaching the 5th. rd. of the Scottish Amateur cup which without a doubt is the toughest of all the national cups to win.
Larkhall United then linked up with Larkhall Thistle Juniors Scotland’s oldest junior club to form Larkhall Thistle Community Club which resulted in teams from 2006 to 1999 plus the amateurs and juniors under the community club umbrella.
At the start of season 2015/16 Larkhall Thistle Amateurs joined the Caledonian League set up and now play on Saturday afternoons.
The club have tremendous mix of players some who have played at the highest level others who have junior experience and guys who have played amateur.
With the hard work of the coaching staff and the support of the club the amateurs are progressing season to season.
The aim of the community club is to encourage young people to participate in sport from childhood to adulthood which assists in commitment and social skills.
We sincerely hope that as many people will make the effort to travel to Broadwood on the 22nd . Jan. to support the lads in their efforts to lift the trophy which would be a major achievement for the club.
On behalf of the committee, players and coaching staff of Larkhall Thistle juniors we wish everyone connected with the Amateurs the best of luck on the night.
