Larkhall Thistle v St Roch’s
Central League First Division
After being idle for the past few weeks, Thistle were pleased to be back in action with the visit of St Roch’s. Young David Thomson was recalled from his loan spell at the Electric Bar as Stuart Thomson was out with a shoulder injury.
The visitors started strongly aided by a very strong wind without really troubling the Thistle goal. Slowly Thistle came into the game and Bryan Felvus forced a good save from the St Roch’s keeper after good work by Graham Gracie. The Jags eventually took the lead, Ryan Innes netting after a goalmouth scramble. Thistle were now in control and captain Brian Jack volleyed into the empty net after the visiting keeper fumbled a cross ball.
Half time: Larkhall Thistle 2 St Roch’s 0
St Roch’s came out in determined fashion in the second half and put the home defence under pressure but young Thomson easily dealt with any efforts which were on target. David Reid was causing all sorts of problems down the left wing, ably supported by Scott Nicholl and came close on at least two occasions.
Thistle increased their lead when the St Roch’s keeper missed a Reid cross and Innes headed home. At this stage St Roch’s were on the rack and Graham Gracie also came close after good hold up play by Felvus.
Manager Dunky Sinclair then made two changes replacing Felvus with Gary McStay and Mark McKeever with Josh Payne. The Jags played out the final minutes of the game under no real pressure.

On a day when the full team played well one player was outstanding so today’s man of the match is Ryan Innes.
Lets hope we can maintain this standard of going forward, good day to be Jags supporter.
