Thistle travelled to Dumfries for their annual friendly with Southern League team Abbey Vale, the game being played at Palmerston Park the home of Queen of the South. After a fairly even start Thistle eventually gained the upper hand and went in at the interval three goals up through Neil Schoneville, Brian Jack and David Reid.
Dunky as promised made 6 changes at half time, replacing David McPhee with Declan Doyle, Reid with Mark McKeever, Ryan Innes with Joshua Payne, Scott Nicholl with Paul Burns, Matty Clarke with Barry Daly and Graham Gracie with Brian Felvus.
Abbey Vale came more into the game due to the number of changes made by the visitors at half time but Brian Felvus increased the Jags lead with a well taken goal. Abbey Vale rallied after this and scored what turned out to be a consolation goal.
Overall a good exercise and once again the hospitality from our good friends at Abbey Vale was excellent.
